Dr. Bill Raymond was Norman Bates' psychiatrist when Norman was released from his institutionalization.
Raymond remained concerned for Norman and helped him get a job at Statler's Diner. Raymond frequently stopped by the Bates House to check on Norman and he became concerned when he learned that a "Mary Samuels" was staying with Bates.
When Raymond tried to confront Mary, she accidentally stabbed him. Dr. Raymond fell down a flight of stairs and landed on the banister which pushed the knife deeper into his chest until he finally landed on the carpet and died.
